

The interior of Buku's home is filled with murals and artwork collected over many years, creating a unique environment for visitors to appreciate. The house has since become known as the 'House of Art'. It is an old but quaint house which used to belong to his father who died when Buku was still young. His unique take on the arts world brought him national acclaim and recognition by the government, who awarded him with the 'Young Artist Award' in 1993.īuku's home is located in Yogyakarta, near the northern slopes of Merapi volcano. He studied Visual Communication at Hasanuddin University where he made his name for his innovative approach with paint and canvas during his youth. Buku was born in 1970 in Malang but grew up in Yogyakarta. One such place belongs to one of Indonesia's most popular artists, Buku Boyam.
